...La festa della carne...the meatfest !

We went to a small restaurant in Porano...near Orvieto...where we had been with our friends Jim and Diane a few years ago...it is built into the side of the mountain, and is too cute...

We started with 3 appetizers recommended by our waiter: fagioli (beans) with pancetta, prosciutto, and guanciale (pig cheek) with sage and vinegar...yum and yum ! We were full, but the waiter asked if we wanted some grilled meat...the grill was right in the front of the place and looked so appetizing that we said ok...just a little ...HA !  We chose a filet of cinghiale (wild boar) and some sausage...so we thought...

When the sheet of plywood arrived with our meat, it included what we had ordered, plus a pork chop, lamb chop, veal chop, liver (of some animal...), mortadella, chianina beef patty, sausages of wild boar, roasted onions, roasted potatoes, and some things we couldn't even identify...TIMES TWO !!  You can't make this stuff up....speaking of stuffed...we were....we may never eat again (fat, and I do mean fat, chance...)

I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair...good thing I didn't...I would never have gotten back up !
