...a slow boat to the mainland...

We bid a fond (and tearful) farewell to Sicily , and boarded the ferry for the mainland of Italy...our little GPS even showed us getting on the ship !  The last time we did this, the ship was packed with cars, trucks, and people...traffic was light today, perhaps because it was a Sunday...

We arrived in Lecce after a beautiful drive through Calabria and Puglia and a quick stop in Alberobella to see the cute little cone shaped houses called trulli...I wish the pics would load !...grrrrr....our apartment here is lovely...very modern and in the middle of the "old" city center.  We had a GREAT pizza last night (and I have a few diet pepsi's left, in case you were worried...)

We're in an Internet Cafe right now listening to the Blues Brothers CD...too funny and too funky...we're the only people here and they are BLASTING the music at 11 am !  We're rocking out, baby !

Off to walk the town and get our bearings...
