a side trip....

One of the nicest side trips we took while in Lecce was to the harbor town of Otranto...it was a beautiful day, and we walked and walked....and walked...

We stopped at a cafe for lunch...they were playing American jazz on the sound system, so we ate listening to Billy Holiday.  The food was amazing...one of the best meals we've had (again !)...spigola (a lovely fish here), mussels, pasta with ricci sauce (sea urchin)...oh my !

The pictures will be on my Facebook page because this blog has stopped accepting photos - thanks, Google...anyway, take a look if you can, because Otranto was gorgeous...I'll also post pics of Lecce...one of the most magical cities I've ever seen...the buildings there are constructed of the local stone which comes in colors ranging from pale yellow to a deep gold.  When the sun hits them...mama mia !  It's even more incredible at night....

There are more churches in Lecce than any city we've been to...all baroque style and very ornate...one more beautiful than the next.

Lecce...kissed by the sun and caressed by the sea breezes...ahhhhhhhh.....

Loving vacation...Chris and her sun kissed husband
