...the Eternal City...

Rome is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been...we started out this morning at 10:30am, and walked, and walked, and WALKED...until after 7pm...phew !  We wandered through piazza after piazza, church after church, and alleyway after alleyway...street performers were everywhere, some very talented people ! It was a sunny, 67 degrees...just what we came to Italy for !

We had over-priced drinks sitting outside in a little cafe in Piazza Navona ( totally worth it !), gelato near the Trevi Fountain, and Roman pizza that you buy by the weight...it's very thin crust, so you can get a lot for the money !

We went into the Pantheon, saw Marcus Aurelius' Column, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza dei Fiori...too many sights to mention...

At one point, we were near the Parliament building and saw the Mayor of Rome being interviewed...we waved...maybe we'll be on the news tonight...except we're way too tired to stay up and watch ...
the Pantheon...

light shining in from the oculus to the back wall...
 Ah...the Trevi Fountain...

after tossing in a coin, I'm sure to return...

the mayor of Rome with cameras in his face ...handsome guy !

We're going to try to rally now...at 8:15pm...to go to dinner...this vacation stuff is exhausting !

Hugs from Roma, Chris and her "we are NOT going into another church" husband

I'll send a few pics at a time...we took way too many !
